Acupuncture is an ancient form of treatment which was first used in China some 3000 years ago. It was at this time used to treat a wide variety of conditions. Today research into acupuncture has shown benefit in a limited range of conditions.
Needles are inserted into carefully chosen points just under the surface of the skin. The needles are made of stainless steel and are discarded after single usage, thus eliminating the risk of passing on viruses such as HIV and Hepatitis.
