What happens after my first treatment?
Following a session of acupuncture, some improvement in the symptoms may be noticed. This is often short-lived and it is important to remember that the effects of acupuncture are usually cumulative. After the next treatment the benefits should last longer.
Occasionally a worsening effect of the symptoms is noticed. This is termed an aggravation and will not last more than a few hours. Aggravations are usually considered to be a good indication that the treatment will work well.
After the first session, you should expect to come for a further six to eight appointments over the following three months.
