Dr Michael Curtin is a fully qualified medical doctor, having completed his initial training at Sheffield Medical School in 1984. He went on to complete Vocational Training and became a full time NHS GP in 1989. Subsequent to his training, Dr Curtin went on to gain 28 years’ experience in General Practice alongside his special interest in complementary medicine.

Following two years of working in General Practice, Dr Michael Curtin became interested in acupuncture and after a prolonged period of study, obtained a Diploma in Acupuncture from the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS). He developed both his interest and understanding of acupuncture during two extended trips to Japan where he was able to spend time sitting in and observing acupuncturists at work. Dr Michael Curtin is now a fully qualified acupuncturist with clinics in London, St Albans, Bedford, & Hitchin. As a practicing doctor, he believes that acupuncture does not take the place of orthodox medicine, but that it can in fact work effectively alongside it.
